This week, I’m delighted to introduce you to our sales team leader, Linda. Linda has been with us for almost a decade, and is a crucial part of our business. Linda’s main role is to look after our customers before and after they’ve made a sale, to make sure each customer is satisfied throughout their bathroom journey. We wanted to find out a bit more about Linda’s role, and so this week I asked her if she could spare some time to speak to us (kindly, she accepted).
So here it is, Linda’s Wholesale Domestic story…
“Hi, I’m Linda. I’m a sales team leader, and I have been part of the WD family for nearly 10 years.
I started out working on the sales floor, where I gained a wealth of experience and knowledge of our business. It gives me great pleasure to put my experience to good use, as I assist my fellow colleagues and staff in supplying our customers with the best possible advice and support.
I’ve also spent a considerable amount of time in our customer service department, where I gained invaluable experience. This vital knowledge helped me to better understand our customers’ expectations, and has allowed me to make positive changes in the business to benefit our customers even further.
I’m delighted to have been elevated to a team leader position within the store this year. I love being able to support my colleagues, and to help them advance in any way that I can; passing the key knowledge that I have learned onto them.
It’s also a very exciting time for me, as I feel that I’m able to help nurture the sales team, which will help the business become more successful, aiding growth and expansion.
I must admit, I’m very happy in my job, and take immense pleasure in being part of an ever growing team, as we all head towards a bright and exciting future.”
I then asked Linda was she liked the most about her job, and this is what she said…
“I really like the people I work with. To me, having a good relationship with your team makes all the difference. I also love meeting new people, and helping a customer to plan their bathroom to their exact specification is one of the best parts of my job.”
So Linda, to tell us what you don’t like about your role…
“It’s a challenge getting used to all the changes that are happening in the business at the moment. Once upon a time, everyone from the office and showroom were all together, but now we’re all located in different buildings, and it’s taking a while to get used to being apart.”
Since Linda has been with us for so long, I had her if she had any good stories to share…
“My worst experience with WD, was a few years ago. It was a really windy day, and the water tank used to be on the roof. It became so windy that the lid fell off and right through the roof, missing me by just a few inches! I can laugh now, but as you can imagine I was quite shaken at the time.
My best experience was when I worked on a project for The Winnock Hotel. I helped them plan numerous ensuites for the hotel, and it still is one of my biggest sales to date.”
Has anything funny happened over the years that you can share with us? (Other than you being almost destroyed by a water tank lid).
“Children come into the showroom with their parents and relatives every day. Unfortunately, some of the younger ones get a big confused that the toilets in the showroom don’t work. Do I really need to explain the rest? We’ve had a few instances where the toilets have had to be cleaned out!” She laughs.
