Barry has been with us for about a year and a half, and we’re delighted to announce that he’s just been appointed the position of Customer Service Team Leader. Well done, Barry!
This week, we asked Barry if he would take some time out of his hectic schedule, to tell us a bit about his journey (including a behind the scenes peek at his new role). So, here it is, Barry’s very own Wholesale Domestic story…
"I’ve been with WD for 1.5 years, starting off in the showroom then moving to customer service almost a year ago. Starting in the showroom gave me the opportunity to extensively develop my own knowledge base & customer service skills within the bathroom industry. Without this vital experience, I wouldn’t have been able to absorb as much info as I have in order to successfully support my colleagues, and our customers.
Since being with the company I’ve had many new experiences (all good), but being part of the Ideal Home Show last year, was definitely a highlight for me. I’ve also gained a first aid certificate, which I feel, is an essential asset for my role, and one that makes my colleagues feel at ease.
My updated title reflects the start of a new era for the company. We opened a second building at the end of 2016, with the aim to boost the company’s growth in 2017 & beyond. It’s thrilling to be part of such a major expansion, and I’m proud to be a part of a progressive company. This opportunity couldn’t have come at a better time; it’s nice to start my new duties at the beginning of a new chapter in the business.
My new responsibilities are both challenging and rewarding, and every day is a school day; learning new things and solving problems for both myself, and my new team. My new role in the business reflects the changes and growth in the company. This role has never existed before, so I get to start from scratch; creating my own job identity, which let’s face it, is pretty special. I hope that my contribution will help to elevate our customer service experience to a new level of excellence for each and every one of our valued customers."
This is all well and good, but let’s get to the important stuff! I asked Barry what’s the best thing you bring to the team, and this was his response…
"It’s common knowledge that my desk is the go to place for sweets and all sorts of goodies!"
I can’t argue with that! I hope you’ll join me in congratulating Barry, we wish him the best of luck in his pursuit of outstanding customer service. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have good reason to visit Barry’s desk!
