What are wet room backer boards?
Backer boards are an essential foundation for any wet room installation. They provide a flat, stable, and completely waterproof surface for you to apply tiles or panels over. Unlike standard plasterboard, they won't rot or warp if they get wet, which is crucial for long-term protection against dampness and mould.

What are wet room wall panels made of?
Most of our panels are made from XPS (extruded polystyrene) or structural foam. These materials are excellent for bathrooms because they're lightweight and easy to cut to size, which helps you get the perfect fit for even the most awkward layouts. They’re also strong enough to support heavy tiles, giving you the freedom to create the bathroom of your dreams.

Can these panels be installed over existing tiles?
You can actually install panels over your old tiles if they’re still level and firmly stuck to the wall. This can be a helpful shortcut if you’re renovating in a tight timeframe, but for the most professional and watertight finish, we’d generally recommend stripping everything back and starting fresh.
