The RAK Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) is a regulatory thermostatic device designed to be installed within a water supply system to limit the maximum temperature of hot water delivered to a tap, shower, or bath outlet. TMVs are specified in healthcare, elderly care, childcare, and other vulnerable person environments where scalding risk must be controlled at the point of installation.
Thermostatic mixing valves are a mandatory requirement in many commercial, healthcare, and public-sector bathroom installations under relevant UK building regulations and care sector guidelines. They are also increasingly specified in domestic settings — particularly for children's bathrooms and homes with elderly or mobility-impaired residents — as a safety measure that provides protection at the point of use rather than relying on user awareness. The RAK TMV is designed for integration within the supply pipework, providing a reliable and serviceable solution.
TMVs must be installed and commissioned by a qualified plumber familiar with the relevant standards (such as BS EN 1111 or BS EN 1287). Regular service checks and cleaning of the internal strainers are required to maintain correct operation.
