The seat is constructed from moisture-resistant MDF, chosen for its resistance to swelling and cracking in humid bathroom conditions. A soft close hinge lowers the lid smoothly and quietly every time, and quick-release fittings allow the seat to be lifted away from its hinges in seconds when it's time to clean thoroughly around the pan.
