Description
Model Number: WDB18006
The McAlpine 1½" Plastic Bath Space Saver is a compact trap for bath waste connections, fitted with a self-closing membrane valve in place of a conventional water seal. The valve stays closed between uses to keep drain odours out of the room, and because there's no water seal to hold, it can never dry out or lose its seal through evaporation or long periods of disuse. Finished in white plastic, it's built to fit into tighter spaces than a standard trap allows.
Manufactured from durable plastic and tested to BS EN 1451-1 / BS EN 1329-1, it connects via a 1½" BSP female inlet nut and a 1½" universal compression outlet, with an overall height of just 75mm. The valve also admits air into the waste pipe when negative pressure builds up, removing the need for secondary ventilation and giving more flexibility in the plumbing design. It can be cleaned in place: remove the split pin, take out the plug and membrane, wash in hot soapy water and reassemble.
It's a straightforward retrofit for baths where pipework space beneath the appliance is limited, and works as a like-for-like replacement wherever a standard trap won't fit. Note: not recommended for kitchen or utility sinks.
